The two cemeteries are located next to each other, across the street from Paradise Temple.
My father, Reverend Joseph Thomas Williams, who served as the pastor of Paradise Temple for over four decades, expressed his desire to be laid to rest across the street from the church in Mt. Elliott Cemetery.
I have recently noticed that another minister in the family, Reverend Gilbert Kendrick, is interred in the neighboring Elmwood cemetery. It is important to note that while the two cemeteries are adjacent, they are not directly connected.
Also, buried at Elmwood Cemetery is Byrdell Kendrick (wife of Gilbert Kendrick) Aunt Ada Simpson, along with Oscar Simpson and Rachel Simpson). Buried at Mt Elliott Cemetery is Roberta Williams (my step mom) and Milton Robbins (brother in law).
