Family, it gets worse!
So after that Jamaican nurse told me I’m 5’7 1/2″ and I told her I’m 5’8″.
I went to get fitted for a tuxedo for my daughter’s wedding. My wife explained to the 5″ 11″ sales men what we were looking for. I told him let’s try the 44 Regular. He said “Sir, you’re too short for a Regular now. We’re going to have to put you in a SHORT in your size.”
A SHORT! 😮💨I said sir, I’ve worn a Regular my whole life!
First the nurse takes a half inch, now the tuxedo man is taking another inch and putting me in the SHORT section. Is this what they mean by getting older? You don’t just lose height, you lose your whole section in the store? 🤣

This was around the time I moved to Atlanta and needed to wear a suit every day. I bought 40 Regular suits in pairs back then.
I remember walking through a parking lot in Buckhead and a beautiful lady said ” you are wearing that brown suit.. i smiled and blushed a little and continued on my way. By the time I got back to my desk I was 5″ 10″ or more.😁

After my last post one of my daughter’s commented they she didn’t realize we were so short. She was a fraction of a fraction taller than me at the father daughter dance at her wedding. I won’t mention her name but her picture and name is on the cover of her book Pimpette Chronicles below.

One response to “The Short Tuxedo”
I’m only taller than you with heels on. I’m actually only 5’4”. 🤣
